You fought until the very end. Like you weren’t ready to leave this world. As if you still had something left to accomplish or there was a fear of missing out. But your body couldn’t keep up with your will to be by my side forever. I don’t know if I will ever stop expecting to hear your toenails tapping on the wood floors looking for me around the corner or to see you running to the kitchen when I drop food on the floor. I don’t know if I will ever be okay with myself for the way we said our goodbye. I do know you will never be replaced and wherever I go, you will go, because I know that’s exactly how you would want it. I only hope you are in a better place now with no more suffering, and you know that you were loved during your time with us on Earth. You were a huge part of our family, and we thank you for all the years of loyalty. You will live forever in my heart.
