Festus, my boy, my baby dog, my tootie.. I have loved you your whole life and I’ll miss you the rest of mine. You taught me responsibility, companionship, and unconditional love. I will never forget the endless kisses, snuggles, and bowls of bluebell ice cream we shared. Watching you grow from a playful puppy that fit in my hands to an old man with cloudy eyes and stiff legs was the most bittersweet experience of my life. You never met a stranger and everyone who met you, instantly fell in love. Between the underbite, the curly tail, and wild fur, Poppy would always say “he’s just so ugly he’s cute.” You have left your paw print on our hearts. I cannot thank you enough for the best 14 years together. May you spend the rest of time across the rainbow bridge barking at the mailman, walking beside our Poppy, and eating endless gallons of bluebell ice cream. See you later, my goodest boy.
